Minivans come with more standard equipment.
In the past few months, the Chrysler Pacifica experienced some production problems. In September, the Windsor Assembly Plant, Ontario, Canada was temporarily closed due the shortage of chips. However, there is still strong demand for the minivan. The Pacifica will be back in 2022 with some updates and an important addition.
Limited and Pinnacle will be offered with front-wheel drive as a standard on the two top-of-the-line trim levels. AWD will be an option. It makes sense, as many customers living in warmer states don’t require the extra grip provided by the Pacifica AWD. There will be a few models that are slightly less expensive with more equipment, but they will still be available in front-wheel drive.
According to MoparInsiders the starting price for the Limited 2022 Pacifica is $48,320 with front wheel drive. AWD will add $1,675 to the price, bringing it up to $50,915. The flagship Pacifica Pinnacle will be priced at $52,775 FWD and $55,370 with an optional all-wheel drive system.
The Touring trim’s entry-level AWD option will be removed for the 2022 model years. The automaker decided to simplify the Pacifica Touring lineup in order to appeal to a smaller percentage of customers. The Touring L will remain available in both FWD and AWD configurations.
The 2022 Pacifica range will see improvements, including the Cold Weather Group (previously a $495 option). Every 2022 Pacifica will come with heated front seats, and a heated steering column. The Touring and Touring L models, as well as the Limited, will receive last year’s Premium and Safety Sphere Group options. The Clean Air Filtration System will be standard on the flagship Pinnacle models.
