This is the guide for anyone who has ordered a ‘Vette with high wings.
The Z51 Performance Package was available for the first two years. It included a variety of upgrades that made the ‘Vette C8 even more track-friendly. These upgrades include new tires, a revised suspension tuning, larger brakes, greater cooling capacity, and aero bits such as splitter and decklid spoiler.
However, the Corvette C8 would come with the Z51 package and the High Wing. Chevrolet would provide both a decklid spoiler as well as a wing if ordered with the Corvette. The spoiler would be included in the car’s shipment, and the wing would be added during the pre-delivery inspection (PDI).
However, that will not be the case for 2022 models. At least, that’s what Rick Corvette Conti is telling us. You’ll see a 2022 Corvette with Accelerate yellow missing the decklid spoiler, but with prepunched holes to accommodate the High Wing.
The video shows that Corvettes ordered with Z51 package or High Wing will not come with the spoiler, but there will be holes pre-punched on the trunk lid to allow for the installation. This is in addition to the other modifications for the Corvette’s 2022 model-year.
Since you won’t use the spoiler anyway, this shouldn’t be an issue. If you are hoping to make a few hundred bucks selling the spoiler, it would be a disappointment.
A quick look on eBay reveals that the Z51 spoiler is being sold for between $400 and $500.
This information is not official at this time. If you are in a similar circumstance to the customer above, it might be worth checking with your dealer to confirm if the Z51 spoiler will still be included in the package.
