These features were so bizarre that they earned the name of the Herman Melville novel. The race team’s mechanics allegedly came up with this idea after they had worked tirelessly on a race car that was not achieving much success.

The Porsche circle debates whether the Pink Pig 917 racing car is more famous than Moby Dick. After receiving an expanded and reworked chassis, the LeMans winner race car was given its name and butcher-inspired look. The paint scheme highlights the various cuts of meat that a pig produces.

The Porsche 718 W-RS Spyder, also known as Grandmother, is less well-known. It was nicknamed for its long-term involvement in racing. The 718 was so competitive that it was used from 1961 to 1964, winning major races like the Targa Florio.
