Truly bizarre.
The BMW 3 Series E30 is a true icon of the premium entry-level segment. The E30 is a classic design with proven powertrains and is a solid platform for tuning projects. There have been many E30s that have been modified and/or restored, but this one is probably the most unusual. This one is special.
Cars.co.za has another amazing build to share with us. It proves that South Africa is home to a great tuning scene. The car was originally a two-door E30 coupe. “The body was splitting in places and rust was creeping in,” the owner decided to take the car apart, fix the chassis and then send it in for a complete body respray. Ace Customs found that the wiring was also in disarray and decided to dispose of everything.
Although the car came with a 1UZ Lexus V8 motor, there were issues with the electronics. The Spitronics management software was installed and the engine started up again. After tuning the engine, the tuners moved on to the car’s exterior.
Ace Customs imported a complete body kit and fitted it. Ace also imported custom brakes from Japan, which were hidden aftermarket brakes. The original dashboard was taken out of the cabin and replaced with an aluminum dash and a bespoke centre console. A full roll cage was added for additional rigidity and a NOS was added to boost the engine’s power.
What is the result? Well, it’s extraordinary. This amazing build is not going to be revealed, so please watch the video at top of the page. We promise it’s worth your attention and time.
