VinFast, Vietnam, Will Sell Cars in The USA By 2022

The company is aiming to be a global brand for EVs.

2019 reports suggested that VinFast, a Vietnamese automaker, had planned to enter the American market by 2021. However, it appears that these plans have changed. The company’s global chief executive Michael Lohscheller has revealed that it will start accepting pre-orders in the US for the VF e35/e36 electric SUVs in 2022. Deliveries are expected by the end next year.

Lohscheller stated that while it’s too early to predict sales, VinFast will present two of its newest EV models at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show this November. This will mark our official introduction into the American market. VinFast will start local deliveries before entering the US market in December. This marks the first time that actual cars have been handed to customers.

VinFast CEO said that the auto manufacturer Vingroup, which is part of Vietnam’s largest conglomerate Vingroup has an office in California. The company plans to set up a network of 60 dealerships throughout the country. The majority of sales should take place online, but manufacturing will continue to be done in Vietnam. However, the company boss promised to “keep an ear on the possibility for a manufacturing plant in the US.”

VinFast, according to Lohscheller, has confirmed that it will be displaying two electric SUVs at the Los Angeles auto show this year. VinFast will be launching its global brand of electric vehicles at the LA auto show. Vingroup’s technology ecosystem will also showcase additional e-mobility solutions.
