Hyundai Creta Facelift Featuring Tucson-Inspired Design

Soon, the budget crossover will be extensively refreshed.

The Hyundai Creta was first introduced in 2015, as an affordable crossover made from South Korea to serve emerging markets. The second generation model was released in 2019 with a completely new interior and exterior, inspired by larger, more powerful vehicles from the brand. Hyundai has released the first teaser photos of the new Creta.

Although Hyundai has only published a few sketches of the redesign Creta, it confirms what we have seen in spy shots: the compact crossover will abandon its predecessor’s look to adopt the visual identity of the new Tucson. It will feature a large grille and integrated lights within the grille. Additional tweaks may be made to the lower portion of the front fascia.

Another exterior drawing shows the Creta’s rear. It appears to retain the split taillight design that we know and love. The cabin is shown in the last sketch. This model is right-hand driven, but it appears almost identical to the Creta currently on display at the company’s showrooms.

The Creta is not available in the United States. Autocar India reports that the updated Creta will debut in Indonesia in five- or seven-seat configurations. According to local media, the premiere is set for December and sales should begin in the first months of next year. The crossover will be eventually launched in China and Thailand after the Indonesian launch.

Our Brazilian colleagues at Motor1.com Brazil say that the refreshed Creta will not arrive in Brazil anytime soon. It will be at least a few more years before the new model arrives in Brazil. The second-generation Creta was launched by Hyundai’s local division earlier this year. We expect to find out more about this in the coming months.
