Skoda’s Teaser Campaign for the All-New Fabia is now in full swing. The latest episode takes us inside. The fourth generation subcompact hatchback is quite different from the previous supermini. However, it looks very similar to what you will find in the larger Scala or its Kamiq crossover counterpart.
The cabin is familiar, aside from the lateral air vents that are round. The Fabia’s interior design is very similar to current Skoda interior designs. The DSG’s bulky gear lever means that the B-segment hatch won’t have the shift-by wire tech. Octavia It features a fancy little switch. The company’s smallest car, the MQB A0 platform, uses a mechanical handbrake to reveal its simpler underpinnings.
The Fabia will soon have a fully digital instrument cluster, but it will only be available as an option. This means that the smaller versions of the Golf Mk4-sized hatchbacks will have to use physical dials or needles. Skoda sells the more expensive Octavia in certain markets with the same analog setup as the entry-level trim.
Although it is difficult to tell from this sketch, the interior is significantly larger than the Fabia Mk3. This new generation will be the largest car in its segment and will offer more headroom and legroom to the driver and passengers. The new subcompact hatch will measure 4,107 millimeters in length, 1,780mm wide and 1,460 high.
Skoda will add a horizontal decorative trim to the dashboard and prominent “Fabia” lettering to the instrument panel. The new model has a modern interior that features color-coded design elements in its center console and chrome door openers.
The world premiere will take place in the middle of next month. We’ll also get to see the hatchback body style. An wagon has been confirmed to be one of the last long-roof models within this segment. However, it will not be available until early 2023. The next-gen hatch will continue to be sold alongside the existing wagon.
