Are you still hesitant about buying a hybrid? Maybe Porsche’s clip can change your mind.

It’s not a trend, but electrification is a growing way to drive our cars. Porsche shows off some of its previous efforts to electrify its cars, as well as some current models, in a new video that is rousing.

Porsche believes that its move toward electrification dates back 120 years to Ferdinand Porsche’s work on the Egger-Lohner C.2 Phaeton and Semper Vivus electric cars. The latter had a combustion engine as a range-extension for the battery. The automaker’s first ever production EV is just over a year away.

All of Porsche’s electrified models are currently hybrids. However, they are very impressive machines. The currently top-of-the-line range is the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid. The driver gets 680 horsepower (507 Kilowatts) from the V8 biturbo 4.0-liter and 626 pound-feet (849 Newton meters) of torque via electric boost. It is capable of reaching 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.2 seconds, and can travel 31 miles (50 km) on its own electric power. Porsche will be offering this powerful powerplant to other models as well, including the Porsche 911. Panamera Sport Turismo Get your wagon The Cayenne will eventually be finished.

This clip shows how the company uses this technology to race. The all-wheel-drive 911GT3 R Hybrid is briefly featured. However, the video focuses on the 919 hybrid race car’s success, including its three wins at Le Mans. Although this video seems like an ideal time to promote the entry into Formula E the video doesn’t mention the program.

The production version of Porsche’s Mission E concept is proving to be a huge success. The EV features plenty of screen time in both the sedan and Cross Turismo wagon versions. The sleek four-door will be available in 2019 with an electric powertrain of over 600 horsepower (447 kW) as well as a range of more than 311 miles (500 km).
