Brabus tuned the E 500 to produce 462hp. An aerodynamic package includes lightweight alloy wheels, adjustable suspension, and a rear spoiler. Diesel models are also being developed.
Brabus will not take chances and will continue to be ahead of its tuning competitors. Brabus already has a tuning program, but Mercedes-Benz’s W212 series E-Class range was released in this year.
The E 500, the specific E-Class model that will be featured in the new program, has its 5.5-litre V8 increased by 6.1-litres (372 cu. in.). A special crankshaft is used and the pistons are larger to increase displacement. The cylinder heads have been optimized for mixture flow and are fitted with special camshafts. The engine conversion also includes high-efficiency metal catalysts.
The total output is 462hp (453kW) of peak power, and 615Nm (453 Lb-ft), of torque. This engine is equipped with a limited slip differential, which allows for all of this power. It can go from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, and top speed is 305 km/h (191mph).
Brabus E-Class’s new Brabus E-Class will come with light alloy wheels from 17- to 20-inches. The Pirelli and Yokohama tyres are 245/30 ZR 20, at the front, and 285/25 ZR 20, at the back. Brabus has created a suspension system that can be adjusted to suit different needs, from sporty to very comfortable.
Exterior features include LED daytime running light, chrome-plated tailpipes and aluminium front sport panels. The interior features a multimedia system that includes a 7-inch LCD screen and a DVD player. The interior is made of full Brabus leather and Alcantara, which makes it sporty but comfortable.
