Corvette dealer claims Z06 waitlist is 3 to 4 years

It’s important to take this information with a grain, as GM hasn’t yet released pricing or ordering information.

The 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has been revealed. Now it’s time to tell wild dealership stories. This story promises that buyers will pay MSRP regardless of what it is. Buyers who work with this dealership may have to wait a while before they can enjoy their Z06 sticker.

You might be wondering how long it took. According to Zerin Dube’s tweet, it could be three to four years. A screenshot of the Wholesale Car Club Facebook page is shown in the post. It shows a post by a person who claimed to work at “one the largest Chevrolet dealerships” and receives up to 100 Corvette allocations per month. They are taking $1,000 refundable deposits to purchase the Z06 and already have 1,087 records. The wait time for delivery can be as long as four years. Yikes.

Our friends over at MidEngineCorvetteForum.com learned of this, and they speculate the dealership in question is Criswell Chevrolet in Maryland. The forum members who are familiar with the area speculate that the person who posted in the FB Group might have exaggerated the allocation numbers. Many deposits are often refunded when cars become available at other locations. This could also explain why the wait time might be exaggerated. We are now at the end 2025. If the previously leaked C8 developer timeline is accurate, then we may have the ZR1 and Zora by that time.

This isn’t the only report on Chevy dealerships and Z06. Cars direct says that Ciocca Corvette Atlantic City, New Jersey asked its customers not to call about the Z06. According to the location, it is the largest Corvette dealership worldwide and the sales team has been overwhelmed with inquiries about the supercar’s 670 horsepower. Cars Direct has obtained an email stating that the dealership will open a reserve list for Z06s on November 2. However, nothing Z06-related will take place before then. Ciocca, like Criswell, promises to sell all Z06s reserved at MSRP. However, there is no mention of a deposit.

This is the conclusion. People are excited about the Z06’s naturally aspirated V8 that spins at 8,600 rpm. They are disappointed that at this time Chevrolet doesn’t know how many cars it will build. We don’t even have pricing information, let alone ordering or production. Z06 production should start in 2022 if everything goes according to plan. However, we have seen the delays in this process in the past few years. C8 Stingray production has been hampered by COVID and shortages of chip material. This could continue into next year.
