Would you consider buying one?
This is a strange idea. What if Ford decided to increase its already extensive crossover range by making the Maverick an SUV? This rendering by Kdesign AG answers this odd question.
It’s quite simple. This vehicle is equipped with an extended roof and hatchback, which places the cargo bed where it would normally be. To prevent the roofline from appearing too flat at the rear, it rises slightly. A long side window and a large rear glass provide better visibility.
The Maverick pickup’s cargo volume is 33.3 cubic feet (943 Liters). The Ford Ecosport offers 20.9 cubic feet (591.8 Liters) of cargo space behind the second rows of seats. The Escape can hold up to 37.5 cubic cubic liters (1.062 Liters) behind the second. These numbers indicate that a Maverick SUV would be capable of swallowing the owner’s stuff.
The Maverick’s front end was also modified by this designer to look more aggressive than the stock version. To contrast with the red body, there’s now a small hood scoop in black. The grille, lower fascia and wheels are all black, as well as some trim pieces.
Ford is unlikely to build a Maverick SUV. It is possible for a third-party company to produce one, if there is a demand. One company takes Ford Super Duty trucks, and turns them into a modern vehicle that is similar to the extinct Excursion.
There are more Maverick variants, but not an SUV. Recent spy photos show the creation of a rugged version, which reportedly goes under the name Rattler. The ride is approximately an inch taller that the FX4 grade. The truck could also be modified in other ways that are not yet known. The debut of the truck could occur in 2022.
