2022 Porsche Panamera Platinum edition tries to stem the tide

Can the Platinum Edition attract consumers with Taycan sales increasing and Panamera struggling?

Is the Porsche Panamera still viable? It’s not hard to see why sales of the original four-door sedan are falling as people buy the all-electric Taycan, which has outsold every other vehicle in its lineup except Macan and Cayenne . Porsche has made a good value play with the 2022 Panamera Platinum Edition.

Porsche does not explicitly refer to “value” as it is a four-letter term for its high-performance vehicles. It’s difficult to see any other impression if you take a look at the Platinum Edition, Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, and Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. To give an idea of how much the Platinum Edition can save owners, we have attached the standard prices to the descriptions for each item.

All models come standard with 21-inch Exclusive Design Sport rims in Satin Platinum paint. The same alloys will be available on a Panamera base model for $5,500. There are 13 color options available at no cost, including two (White and Black), which cover both metallic and gloss shades. Special paint colors are still available at a premium of $3,270. You’ll also find Matrix LED headlights on the exterior with Porsche Dynamic Lighting, automatic high beams, and Matrix LED taillights, which will save you $1,980

To experience the soft-close standard system, open any one of the four doors. You can open them once more and see the Platinum Edition door sills. The Porsche crest is also embossed on the headrests ($570). Black brushed aluminum interior trim ($1,000), 14-way seats ($1,740 with heating and ventilation up front, while backseat passengers can opt for the butt chillers or wide-ranging adjustability ($1,390).

Porsche decided to leave the powertrain intact, but it does include an air suspension with adaptive dampers. This option is standard on the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid. However, there is a $2190 premium for the base and 4 models. Blind-spot monitoring ($1,060), as well as Power Steering Plus ($310), are standard features on all three Platinum Edition variants.

Panamera Platinum Edition is available at $103,250 base model, $107 350 for Panamera 4 and $116 5,550 for E-Hybrid. All the equipment would cost $107,000. The base Panamera model would cost $111,710. The 4 would cost $111,710, and the E-Hybrid would cost $121,520. Porsche offers Panamera, Panamera 4 and Panamera4 E-Hybrid customers discounts of approximately $4,000 to $5,000 on select tech items and aesthetic options.
