2023 Ford Bronco Raptor Appears Wearing Little Camouflage

After SEMA, “The Bronco Nation”, reps were able to get an early look at the offroader.

The Ford Bronco is already a popular off-road vehicle. A new variant will be available in a few months. The 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor was seen by members of The Bronco Nation in limited camouflage. It follows the same formula as the desert-ready F-150 variant but has more power and an aggressive bodywork.

A forum post reveals that the first in-person look took place at an undisclosed site after the 2021 SEMA Show. The Bronco was a star of the show. Numerous variants the off-roader were displayed at the aftermarket accessory show, including a cadre created in partnership with Ford. The Bronco Raptor is more capable and aggressive than its siblings.

According to the Bronco Nation, the Raptor will likely have an EcoBoost V6. This is an upgrade from the current 2.7-liter which produces 310 horsepower and 400 pounds (251 kilowatts) and 532 newton meters (532 newton-meters). Ford may include a lighter-pressure EcoBoost V6 under the Bronco’s hood. This will make 350 horsepower (261kW) or less. A 10-speed automatic transmission is the only option.

The engine isn’t the only thing that can be upgraded. A first glance showed a clearly visible evidence of a wider track, massive fender flares and standard 37-inch tires. The forum also reported that the SUV was equipped with standard 37-inch tires. It would be possible to expect better performance on off-roading at high speeds, but perhaps not as well as improved maneuverability on narrow trails. This is the purpose of a Raptor-branded Ford product.

The Bronco will be following the F-150’s styling guide, sporting a bold “RAPTOR”,-branded front grille and amber clearance lights. Although it is not clear if those lights will be mandatory, they look great. The Bronco is a lot like its Wildtrak or Badlands siblings with the wide fender extensions and arch-filling tires. However, that’s not bad. Every retro Ford sport-ute looks great.

According to the Bronco Nation, the Raptorized SUV will be available by the middle next year. The pricing is uncertain, but it’s not unreasonable to expect much change at $60,000, considering that the Wildtrak four door starts at $50,000.
