Other than the bed and third axle, there are many mods.
After showing off an Lexus LX convertible designed for falconry the folks at ArabicGT have returned with a more unusual build. It’s also based on the LX’s mainstream sibling, Toyota Land Cruiser. This is a LC200 from the previous generation, with many modifications. It’s not an SUV. The one-off transformation into a pickup truck features a third axle. It was built by Hussein Al Tamimi, a single man.
Hussein was born in Iraq and has a lot experience in customizing cars. This latest build will be followed up by another project using a Japanese donor vehicle. He visited Dubai to talk to ArabGT, and he also spoke about his wild LC ute. However, the truck footage was filmed in Basra, Iraq.
The extra axle isn’t attached to the drivetrain. Instead, the additional wheels are tagged along with the 4×4 standard. This makes it an imitation 6×6 vehicle. Hussein removed the corners from the front bumper to increase the truck’s approach angle. The truck comes with all the offroad gear, including a winch and two tow hooks. There are also extra LED lights and a skid plate.
The -LC200 pickup received a snorkel and fender flares at the front as well as custom suspension for greater ground clearance. The taillights have been modified to include an all-LED system with sequential turn signals. They also do a little dance when the vehicle is locked or unlocked.
You can enter the vehicle by using the electricly deployable running boards. The changes continue with red leather everywhere including the front and rear central armrests, and the Rolls-Royce-esque headliner “Starlight”. The dashboard features a screen on the passenger side and a pair of screens for the rear seat entertainment system. It is similar to a Porsche Taycan.
The soft-close tailgate and doors are illuminated with “Land Cruiser” letters. There is also a custom center console that houses the rear seats, as well as a built-in display. Hussein altered the steering wheel to include a small screen in its middle. He also added lights for the 5.7-liter V8’s revs in the same manner as a race car.
It was a time-consuming and expensive task to convert the Land Cruiser into an SUV pickup truck that has a more luxurious interior, similar to its Lexus LX sibling. Although it isn’t a six-wheel-drive machine, it’s certainly a unique build. We applaud Hussein for his efforts to make one of the most fascinating LC200-based builds.
