The starting price is $19,510.
The Sentra received a complete redesign by Nissan for 2020. It then made some tweaks for 2021. It received Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and with a slight price bump. The 2022 Sentra follows that trend with Nissan making some minor changes to its sedan. The automaker doesn’t make any new innovations, but it does offer a Midnight Edition Package for the SR trim.
Midnight Edition packs include your standard parts in black, such as the V-motion grille and rear spoiler, rear diffuser, badging and 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels. The SV trim will also get a new All Weather Package, which includes heated front seats and remote engine start, dual-zone climate control, and heated steering wheels. For 2022, the company will make its Safety Shield 360 suite technologies, including blind-spot warning and rear-cross traffic alert, as standard across all models.
The 2022 Sentra pricing is almost identical to that of the 2021 model. However, the top-tier SR trim has a $250 higher price than the previous model. The entry-level SL is priced at $20,485 and includes the $975 destination fee. The SV is priced at $21,545 and the SR costs $23,075. The All-Weather pack adds $590. The SV also offers a $1,860 Premium pack. At $23,770, the Sentra Midnight Edition offers the most expensive option.
The Sentra will be entering the 2022 model-year with the same engine it used in 2021: a 2.0-liter four cylinder. It produces 149 horsepower (111 Kilowatts) as well as 145 pound-feet (197 Newton-meters). This engine is connected to a continuously variable transmission. Although the Nissan Sentra is not a market leader in this segment, it offers a very affordable model that has many desirable features and great safety tech. We will see if sales recover after 2020’s disappointing performance.
