This elegant sedan has fabric rear seats that show that luxury does not always have to be leather.
Every now and again, even the “best car in the world” needs an update. The time has come for Rolls-Royce Phantom’s to get a facelift. The Series II features subtle updates starting at the front, where the Pantheon Grille has been illuminated to reflect the smaller Ghost. The grille design has been updated by adding a polished upper bar that serves as a visual link between the LED daytime running lamps.
Customers have asked for a darkened chrome grille surround as a result of their inquiries. These options are now available in the standard and extended configurations of the Phantom Series II. The front headlights are brightened by laser-cut starlights such as RR’s Starlight Headliner.
The retro-styled alloys, a nod towards the disc wheels of 1920s, are the most exciting update. They are available as an option in polished stainless steel or black lacquer. Other wheel options have been updated and a new set of triangular facets has been added. They can be either fully or partially polished.
Although the interior is already luxurious, it doesn’t need any changes. However, there’s an interesting novelty. Clients can choose fabric upholstery for the rear seats and keep the leather-covered front seats. It’s not the same fabric you’ll find in mainstream cars, Rolls-Royce is much better than that. The fabric was made in Italy and combined with another fabric made from bamboo fibers. An abstract interpretation of the Spirit of Ecstasy is featured on the surface.
The Phantom’s focus is on the rear seats. However, the Series II has a thicker steering wheel to accommodate those who prefer to drive their cars and not be chauffeured. The inside changes are completed by abstract interpretations on the dashboard of the RR statuete. It has an amazing tridimensional effect and can be found at several touchpoints. The Goodwood-based luxury brand has not made any engine changes, so the 2023 Phantom continues to be powered by its twin-turbo V12. The 7 Series (G70_) no longer offers an M760i version, so the only way to get a 12-cylinder BMW Group car is to upgrade to a Rolls-Royce. The 6.75-liter engine will soon be discontinued by RR.
