Great Lotus for a great cause.
Lotus has unveiled a special safety car to honor those who served in the armed forces. It will be used for the Race of Remembrance 12 hour endurance race at Anglesey Circuit. This Lotus Exige Cup 430 special was created in collaboration with Mission Motorsport, a group that assists veterans in finding jobs in the automotive industry. Lotus forged a strong relationship with Mission Motorsport by working with veterans to create the Exige Cup 430 Poppy Car, which is covered in a livery of 635 reflective poppies.
The Lotus Exige Cup 430 was retired from production in order to make room for the new Lotus Emira, which has replaced the Evora and the Exige. The Lotus Exige Cup 430, one of the most track-focused Lotus road cars ever made, is the ideal pace car for the Race of Remembrance 12 hour endurance.
The Lotus Exige Cup 430’s supercharged 3.5-liter V6 motor produces 430 horsepower (325 Kilowatts) as well as 324 lb/ft (439 Newton meters) of torque. The powerful V6 is coupled to a 6-speed manual transmission that routes power to the rear wheels. This powerful powertrain allows the Lotus Exige Cup 430 to sprint from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 174 mph.
The Lotus Exige Cup 430 has AP Racing four-piston front braking and Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires to reign in all this power. For a light curb weight of 2420lbs (1098 Kg), the body is made out lightweight composite materials. Lotus’s unique Eibach suspension allows for greater agility on the track, and keeps Lotus’s driver-focused experience intact.
This special Poppy Livery is the perfect tribute to the Lotus Exige Cup 430. It is great to see Lotus paying tribute to those who served with career opportunities as well as during motorsport events such the Race of Remembrance 12 hour endurance race at Anglesey Circuit.
