Ford Mustang Off-Road Rendering Imagines Amazing Off-Roader

It’s one-part show car, one-part Mad Max.

Here’s an idea for a rendering. Abimelec Designs digitally modifies a 1969 Ford Mustang to be a pre-runner in order to absorb bumps while speeding off-road. It looks great!

A pre-runner was an old term that meant a truck or SUV that racers used to test out off-road courses and learn the terrain.

To allow more cool air to enter the engine bay, Abimelec opens the grille in front. This Mustang’s most notable change is the wider fenders. These extended sides allow for the addition of big, knobby tires that will give you off-road grip. It is also higher in the air.

Rear fenders are also a little wider. The frontal section has openings that allow air to circulate and cool the brakes. Window louvers are a nice touch. A small wing attaches at the rear deck.

Only a small glimpse of the interior can be seen. The cabin is black and brightly colored by the door panels. The seats look stocky and lack headrests. If a driver will be driving off-road, this setup is not ideal.

This design aims to combine the looks of a showcar with Mad Max’s personality. The resulting rendering balances these renderings well.

Abimelec installed the PredatorV8 from the Shelby GT500 under the hood. The mill is capable of producing 760 horsepower (567kilowatts) and should provide plenty of power.

Abimelec does not offer specific drivetrain specifications. It would be great to have a four-wheel drive system for off-road use and possibly a low-range transfer box. The suspension is also not visible, but we can imagine a setup with long travel shocks.
