The claim was made by two Chevy dealerships, but it is worth noting.
The new Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is an amazing vehicle that can compete with and beat hypercars. It will also do this at a significantly lower price than the competition. But how much lower? We don’t know the price of the C8 Z06 officially – Chevrolet hasn’t provided any pricing information. We won’t likely have this information for some time.
Rumours are everywhere and this claim by the YouTube channel HorsePower Obsessed caught my attention for two reasons. Two Chevrolet dealerships report the exact same $87,000 starting price in the video. This is a clean number. It probably means that it’s somewhere around $86,995 to $87,195. The bottom line is that the screaming 670-horsepower supercar starts at less than $90,000. While that’s not cheap it’s still significantly cheaper than anything comparable.
It will. According to some, It’s that high. These claimed dealers sources are kept anonymous in the video, so it’s impossible to verify their authenticity. We can however confirm that the $87,000 starting price is the same as the C7 Stingray’s previous-generation Z06 models. This is the second reason we were interested in this claim.
This is far from a conclusive list and there are many other factors that could cause the Stingray-Z06 price gap to widen significantly for the eighth version. The new Z06 has a totally different engine than the Stingray’s LT pushrod family. This alone could lead to a substantial price difference.
We are speculating that Chevrolet may not have settled on a Z06 price for its starting model. Dealers won’t be able to get any information from Chevrolet about the Z06 until 2022. Rumours based on rumors don’t always hold true, according to tradition.
This rumor is supported at least . Take it all with a grain, though, at this stage.
