Here’s the follow-up after almost a year.

James Glickenhaus, the owner of Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus announced his intention to build an wild SCG-branded all terrain race car almost a full year ago. It was an amazing idea. Now, we have an update.

The kit buggy was posted over at Glickenhaus’ Facebook. It now has a name, and it is called the 008 Baja Dakar Buggy. This fast off-roader is a business vehicle based on its name. These are the latest renderings

The updated version of the 008 on-road buggy is more conservative than the original renderings. The roof scoop was removed and the lights were moved to the top of the hood. However, the front winch and side mirrors have been removed. The huge rear wing was also removed. However, the roof-mounted spare tires have been moved to a separate compartment at the back.

The SCG 004 looks set to be produced. Although you might argue that these renderings are only sketches, you can scroll down Glickenhaus’s Facebook to see photos of him inspecting the seats of the central-seated 0,08. It is being built by SCG, and it looks promising.

Although we don’t have any details on the 008 Baja Dakar Buggy, Glickenhaus stated last year that he was considering offering the car as a kit car to customers. The price tag will be lower, but it is possible to build the car yourself. He also stated his intention to race the N24 and the Baja 1000.

If those are true, we’ll find out more over the coming weeks and months. But this 008 buggy certainly looks like a lot of fun.
