Performance SUV territory.
March is a great month to purchase a new Chevrolet Blazer. The V6-powered Blazer will still be available for purchase in two weeks. If you lease it, it will be even less than the Blazer with four-banger. The Blazer 2LT is another reason to consider.
The 3.6-liter V6’s peak power output is 308 horsepower (230 Kilowatts) with 270 pound-feet (366 Nms) of torque. Although it is certainly not a slouch, it isn’t quite as powerful as the Dodge Durango SRT or similar performance vehicles. Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has the solution.
A complete power kit has been prepared by the Indiana-based tuners. It includes an Edelbrock TVS1740 Supercharger and a high efficiency intercooler. The MuscleCarsAndTrucks reports that the package is identical to the kit for the 3.6 V6 Camaro or Colorado.
The kit will be certified emissions compliant in all 50 states. It also comes with professional installation, testing and a warranty. Based on preliminary calculations, the tuned V6 engine will produce approximately 40% more power than the stock unit. This translates into roughly 431 horsepower (321 kW) and 378 lb/ft (512 Nm). These are preliminary numbers and may not be official.
The visual revisions to the Blazer V6 supercharged Blazer aren’t too significant, but there are a few noteworthy tweaks. The all-black exterior makes it look like an SUV that is built to perform.
MCT has not yet revealed pricing information, but the Camaro and Colorado kits are $7,000 each. You can get a complete performance upgrade including suspension, brakes and other appearance upgrades for a higher price.
