Datsun Race Truck is a Practical Skyline Builder

This is the best Datsun truck design we have ever seen.

This is the most fascinating Datsun 1200 truck South Africa has to offer. Gary Law, owner of The Machining Man (a custom fabrication shop and GTR maker), created this Datsun 1200 truck. Gary Law, who has built numerous Skylines, wanted something new and more accessible to drive. The Chili Mouse, a gorgeous red Datsun 1200 truck with Skyline influences, was born.

This stunning widebody Datsun 1120 was built by a man who is an expert in building great Nissans. Gary Law was inspired by his father’s automotive experiences and wanted to recreate some of those childhood memories in this beautiful build. All it took was the purchase online of a Datsun 1200 truck that needed some love.

Gary set to work on replacing the rear floor and cutting body panels to fit large steel fenders. These fenders give the truck an unique appearance and allow Gary to fit larger wheels and tires. Gary wanted to match the truck’s exciting exterior with a powerful naturally aspirated Datsun motor that would provide strong performance and great personality.

An original 1400 block was taken from a Datsun truck and used in the engine’s construction. Gary then added a stroker crankshaft to an A15 1.5-liter motor and custom pistons to increase the compression ratio. Along with the custom intake, which is made up of four carburetors used on R1 sportbikes, the head and valves saw lots of love.

This truck is unique and pays tribute to the past, while adding modern touches. This truck is perfect for the owner who can build beautiful products that bring smiles to everyone who sees them.
