Porsche Three-Row SUV Rumor Turns Into Speculative Rendering

Porsche already has the S in SUV. A seven-seat version would be a great addition to the U.

Many people criticized Porsche’s decision to jump on the SUV bandwagon in the 2000s with the Cayenne. Many were worried that Zuffenhausen would eventually abandon sports cars in order to make more money by selling sports utility vehicles. This was especially true with the launch of the Macan, a smaller and less expensive model. Look at where the German brand is today. It offers 718 and 911 lineups, which have never had as many members.

Porsche has been able to diversify its lineup thanks to the increasing popularity of SUVs. The Taycan and its long-roof counterpart have started the electric assault. Next year, a Macan Electric Vehicle will be available. Another member of the portfolio could be added as a three-row SUV, speculatively rendered by Kolesa.

They used a Cayenne from the current generation as a base and extended its wheelbase and rear overhang to allow for a third row. Although the digital illustration is a more realistic representation of the Porsche design language , there are some signs that the company is working on its first model with more than five seats.

According to Porsche dealers, the SUV, which is positioned above the Cayenne, is expected to be released in the second half of 2010. The dealers claim that the new model will feature a plug-in hybrid system and describe the styling as a departure from current models. One dealer mentioned that the “part sedan, half crossover” look is especially concerning since it hasn’t worked out well for the Mercedes Maybach Ultimate Luxury concept.

It is unclear if Porsche will play it safe with this illustration of the three-row SUV, or if it will choose a completely new direction for its large SUV. Dealers claim it has a flat rear design and could be followed up by an electric version.

A roomier SUV is a good choice for those with deep pockets who need extra functionality without sacrificing performance or handling.
