Watch the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor Take on Off-Road With Ease

Why is the “Warthog” sticker placed on the side sill?

There are six trim levels of the Ford Bronco, with some being off-road-focused like the Badlands or Wildtrak. But, the lineup will expand further in 2022 when the range-topping Raptor is launched. The Bronco Nation has been a great source of information about the best version of this high-riding SUV.

The new video is simple and clear. It doesn’t have any background music so we can see the 2023 Bronco Raptor taking on a specially-built off-road course. The prototype appears to be running a twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine. It’s obvious that the vehicle is significantly wider and taller then a regular Bronco, so it’s not a good idea to disguise it. You can clearly see the difference between them towards the end of this video.

The 37-inch-tall off-roader can be driven on standard 37-inch tires. However, it has a beefier fender flare and wider tracks. The Explorer ST’s 3.0-liter EcoBoost produces 400 horsepower, while the F150 Raptor makes 450 horsepower. Expect the flagship Bronco with all of its mechanical upgrades to pack serious punch.

The Blue Oval is expected to sell the Raptorized Bronco with only four doors. This would not be surprising considering that all of the prototypes have shown the more practical body style. One of the sills at the 2:20 mark shows a sticker labeled, “Warthog.” Jim Farley, Ford’s chief honcho, has confirmed that the hardcore version of the car will be called “Raptor,” so perhaps Warthog is an internal codename?

Two additional Raptor models will be available in 2022. The F-150 Raptor R, which features a powerful V8 engine for the United States, and the Ranger Raptor with a twin-turbo V6 gas engine for global markets are the two hotly anticipated Raptor models. The Bronco believes the Raptor will not be the last. There are indications that a hybrid version is in the works.

The Bronco will get more updates, including tube doors, Heritage Edition and the Everglades with a factory winch, snorkel, and other features. The latest information on the pickup truck rumours is that it is not going to happen. However, the mid-cycle refresher for 2024 is reportedly being planned.
