Corvette Marketing Manager Drops Hints On Z06 Base Price

Too high? Surprisingly low? Just right?

The all-new Corvette Z06 was launched by Chevrolet in October. It marked the first ever mid-engined ‘Vette with that tag. The car has been the subject of many ‘first looks’ stories and is still generating a lot of buzz.

We already know the power and performance of this vehicle, as well as some details about its features. Chevrolet has yet to mention one thing. Its price is the key. There have been dealers who claim that the base price for the 2022 Corvette Z06 is $ 90,000. There are some reports suggesting that the price might be below $ 90,000. These reports do not support the idea that it will start below $ 90,000.

You might have stumbled upon a clue if you listened to the Corvette Today podcast that was released a few weeks back. Harlan Charles, Corvette Brand manager, gave the hint. What did the executive have to say about the price of the Z06?

“The pricing will soon be announced. Harlan said that although we don’t have everything finalized yet, we do know that it should be comparable to the Z06 Stingray, and base to base pricing. Although he did not give a price, he said that the report about it being around $90,000.

You can infer from that statement that the price difference between Corvette base and Z06 is approximately the same as that of the previous generation. The difference between the models is less that $30,000. Although it may sound like a huge jump, keep in mind that the base Corvette has a MSRP of $62,195. The 2022 Z06 could retail for less than $90,000. Or it could stay within the $90,000. Dealer markups, however, are quite another story.

A car costing close to $100,000 is not affordable. The Z06 might be the performance bargain for 2022 if you take a look at its specs and performance claims. If the pricing is true, it will be mid-engined and have naturally-aspirated V8 of 670 horsepower (500kilowatts). It costs less than 100 grand.
