Listen to The Ruf SCR-4.0 Porsche Speeding Down the Autobahn

Although it looks similar to an older 911, it packs 503 horsepower.

AutoTopNL grabs a Rus SCR to take it on a high speed autobahn run. Although the model appears to be a 964-generation Porsche 911 it is actually quite different.

Ruf’s carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and carbon fibre bodyshell are featured in the SCR. The integrated steel roll cage is also included. The flat-six engine is naturally aspirated and produces 503 horsepower (375 kilowatts) with 347 pound-feet (347 Newton-meters) of torque. Six-speed manual is the only available gearbox. It weighs in at 2756 pounds (1.250 kg).

Ruf claims that the SCR can reach speeds of 62 miles an hour (100 km per hour) in 3.4 seconds, and 124 mph (200 km per hour) in 11.9 seconds. The top speed is estimated at 199 miles an hour (320 km per hour).

Because of its wide fenders, the exterior of SCR is reminiscent of the 964-gen Porsche 911 Turbo. The front fascia is slightly different and the ducktail spoiler are different. The package also includes carbon-ceramic brakes.

It has the appearance of a 911, with its large circular gauge pods and modern amenities. The digital speedometer and the gear display are part of the tachometer. The leather is caramel-colored and covers the dashboard, seats, and door panels. A textile with a checkered pattern in the middle of the seats is available for a retro look.

The 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six’s sound is evident in this video. The driver uses the SCR to open the window through multiple tunnels. Clips from the outside of this car are included to show what others hear when it is on the road.

The video shows a lot of traffic on the autobahn, so the driver cannot push the SCR at its maximum speed. He manages to reach 157 mph (252 km/h).
