Tesla Model S V8-Powered Hits the Road and Confusion Abounds

It’s almost like watching a giraffe bark like a dog.

There are many benefits to electric vehicles, but there is also a price. As they move away from combustion power, cars will lose their exhaust sounds. While futuristic sounds may try to replace the exhaust notes, there is no substitute for eight roaring cylinders. Rich Benoit, of Rich Rebuilds YouTube Channel, decided to turn a Tesla Model S in to a combustion-powered sedan using a Chevy Camaro v8 hidden under the frunk.

Although the car isn’t fully tuned in, the crew managed to finish it in time for this years SEMA Show. The car runs on its own power. To perfect the air-fuel mixture, the car will need to be driven to the dyno. This will take place at a later date. This will show you how heavy the Chevy’s LS3 V8 is and what it makes. It runs fine on its own power. The YouTube channel tested this by taking the car on a series of errands. These included picking up children from school, ordering fast food and scheduling an appointment at a Chevy dealer.

Converted Teslas can easily run around the city, even stopping for fuel. The Chevy dealership employees were also very impressed with the Tesla’s build. The Camaro engine will be the engine that will give it its next oil change. The car’s interior is mostly stock. The interior has a transmission tunnel and a sequential shifter. There are a few screens that display engine information. But the majority of it is stock and works. This includes Bluetooth, navigation, and steering-wheel controls.

Although it’s a bizarre juxtaposition to see the Tesla Model S roar past in a growling V8 engine note, it’s a car that is still available. Although it won’t please Tesla enthusiasts, it’s not as annoying as Rich and his crew. As the build progresses, we’ll be able to show you more videos.
