Chevy Forces to Drop the Beast Name from Its Amazing SEMA Truck Concept

Chevy now calls it something very generic.

Chevrolet must use a different moniker for its Beast off-roader concept because of a naming dispute. The 2021 SEMA Show saw the debut of this rugged rig.

“We were approached recently by an entity objecting our use of the Beast’s name,” a Chevy spokesperson said Muscle Cars and Trucks. “The team is currently evaluating other options for the Chevy LT4 off-road concept vehicle. It was shown at SEMA 2021.”

The Chevy Off-Road concept is the new name for this vehicle. It is much less memorable than Beast. The automaker needs to come up with a new name for the vehicle if it plans on displaying the model again or developing it further.

The current trademark for Beast is held by Saber Automotive. It can be used on automobiles in the United States. This company is associated with Rezvani, an automaker that creates a supercar named the Beast.

Chevy’s Beast concept uses an extensively modified Silverado short-bed as the base for its off-road-oriented machine. The majority of the upper bodywork now uses a 4130 chromoly-steel roll cage. The exterior is now made up of angular panels, with a front section that opens to reveal the clamshell.

Chevrolet Performance LT4 supercharged 6.2L V8 makes 650 horsepower (485 kilowatts). It is equipped with a 10-speed auto transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. This allows it to be converted to a four-wheel drive system.

Concept parts were used for the upper and lower control arms at each corner. The suspension also features a five-link design with a Panhard bar at its back. Each corner has adjustable shocks that are racing-spec. The machine is mounted on 20-inch beadlock wheels and 37-inch offroad tires.

This configuration gives the Beast concept 12inches (30.48 cmimeters), and 15.5in (39.37cimeters), of wheel travel at its front. Ground clearance is 13.5 inches (34.29 cmimeters).
