Ken Block’s Teenage Daughter Races Hoonicorn against Tesla Model S Plaid

Lia Block is not afraid to show her dad’s Mustang, 1,400 horsepower.

Hoonicorn vs. The latest series of Hoonicorn vs. is currently being shown on the Hoonigan YouTube channel. first featured the video , and if it was not, you will know that Lia Block, the new tire slayer, is driving the 1,400-horsepower AWD Mustang. She is Ken Block’s 14 year old daughter and an experienced racer. She can now claim the title of Tesla slayer. Mostly, anyway.

This showdown with the Tesla Model S Plaid is actually closer than you might think. Its 1,000-hp EV sedan can hit 60 mph in less than two seconds on a track. The best-of-three competition doesn’t take places on a track, as the World War II-era C-47 buzzing around the competitors shows. However, with nearly 2.5 tons of weight providing traction for the instant-on torque and the Tesla still launches with gusto

Lia also races in the Hoonicorn. However, an additional 400 horsepower and 2,000 pound less weight aren’t always a benefit. The Model S Plaid wins the first race by a slight, while Ms. Block struggles for ground. She sprinted past the Tesla, despite smoke rolling from her four tires, to win the race at 1,000 feet. The win was however only by a few car lengths. This is seriously impressive considering the fact that this car is a bone-stock streetcar anyone can purchase right now.

Race 2 has been modified to give the Model S a two car lead and the hit off. It’s also shorter to 500 feet to keep Tesla in its sweet spot. Although Lia was able to gain a little bit of the advantage before the finish, she showed some great throttle control to manage wheelspin. However, it wasn’t enough to win. Round two goes to Tesla. But the Hoonicorn has not finished yet. Both cars will return for the final round, even if they are racing to the finish line at 500 feet instead of 1000. This could be the most close Hoonicorn vs. This is the World finish that we have seen so far.

It was Lia that won the race by just a quarter of an inch. Yes, Ms. Block won the day. But holy moly did Tesla fight back. Bravo on all counts, and we cannot wait to see the next installment in this series.
