Why bother with the Ford Raptor R when there are Hennessey Venom775 available?
The closest thing to a Ram TRX competitor within the Blue Oval lineup without the upcoming Ford Raptor R is the 2021 Shelby F-150 Super Snake.
Hennessey Performance also offers a similar tune for full-size Ford trucks called the Venom775 F-150. The automaker is confident that the F-150 can withstand the Ram TRX’s power. Hennessey organized a drag race between them – a supercharged F-150 and a stock Ram TRX on Pennzoil’s American tuner’s usual proving ground.
Let’s take a look at the numbers before you start watching the drag racing. This will allow you to compare the super trucks in black and white. Supercharged 5.0-liter V8 powers the Hennessey Venom775 F-150. The tuned truck features a 3.0-liter twin-screw supercharger with intercooler and upgrades to the throttle body, air filtration, engine management systems, and engine filtration. It has a final power output at 775 horsepower (570 Kilowatts) as well as 685 pound-feet (929 Newton meters) of torque.
It is important to note that the Venom 775 shown here is in regular Cab configuration. This means it is likely lighter than the Ram TRX four-door.
The Ram TX is powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter V8. It produces 702 horsepower (516 kW) as well as 650 lb-ft (881 NM) of pulling power. Although it is a little less powerful than the Venom 775 F-150 or the Shelby F-150 Spider, we all know that power output is not everything.
