Maybach-fighting luxobarge gets a built in fragrance and a Mood Curator.
Genesis has published exterior photos of the all-new G90 in November. Now, Genesis has added the final pieces to the puzzle. Genesis shows the luxurious cabin and talks about the technical specifications. Let’s get to the point and take a look inside the Long Wheelbase variant with its spacious rear compartment, which is ideal for VIP passengers. The back has enough space to let you stretch your legs and the driver do all the hard work.
You will find quilted leather everywhere, as you would expect in a luxury stretched sedan. The G90’s interior features forged carbon surfaces and real wood, which combine with metal and wood to create a luxurious atmosphere. Ambient LED lighting has been discretely integrated into the door cards to achieve the same effect.
The entertainment system’s 10.2-inch rear touchscreens automatically adjust to the most comfortable viewing angle depending on the seat mode. An eight-inch tablet is available within the UV light sterilized armrest box that separates the rear seats. This allows you to control everything, from lighting and climate settings to the positioning of the curtains and massaging the seats. To reduce the possibility of microorganisms and bacteria growing on the synthetic leather, the interior has been covered in silver zinc Zeolite antibacterial material.
The G90, which is the first Genesis model with an integrated fragrance to match its German counterparts, has an air purifier. It disperses three scents with interesting names: The Driver’s Awakening and The Great Outdoors.
The four-mode Mood Curator, which is available in four modes, also debuts on Hyundai’s premium brand. It changes several settings, including sound system (23 speakers Bang & Olufsen), mood lights, mood lamps, massage chairs, fragrance and electric curtains – all with the goal of “lifting passengers’ spirits.”
These seats are called “ergo-relaxing” and have 10 air cells in the seatback and two more on the cushion. They provide four types of massage, with the possibility to adjust the intensity and duration. The side bolsters inflate automatically at speeds exceeding 81 mph (130 km/h), or when you are in Sport mode, for more lateral support. When you enter or leave the cabin, they do the opposite.
The new G90 has predictive air suspension which will raise the front wheels 10 millimeters (0.4 inch) and make other adjustments 100 meters (328 ft) before driving on uneven roads to smoothen out road imperfections. To prevent damage to the underbody, the front wheels can also be elevated when driving down steep slopes. It will lift the vehicle 25 mm (nearly an inch) on rough roads.
The Genesis range-topping car features rear wheel steering, support over-the-air upgrades, digital key (using your smartphone to open the trunk and doors), and fingerprint authentication. The car also has a head-up display and noise-canceling. It can also be used for remote parking. This system determines if the driver is still holding the wheel while the semi-autonomous steering system is in use.
These are the technical specifications for the 2023 Genesis G90.

The naturally-aspirated V8 has been discontinued, as previously reported. The silver lining is that the 2023 Genesis G90 will feature an electric supercharger and a twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6. The e-S/C is a supercharged compressed air engine that delivers maximum torque faster than the regular engine. This allows for better acceleration off the line as well as at medium speeds.
This powertrain is only available for the Long Wheelbase model. It is not available in AWD. The output figures for the powertrain have not been released by Genesis, which suggests that it will be more powerful than the standard V6.
The G90 will initially go on sale in South Korea in the next year. It will then be introduced gradually in other markets, including the United States, where it should arrive in time for the 2023 model year.
