It is also a beautiful-looking Chinook RV.
Motorhomes don’t have a reputation for being straight-line performers, but this is your chance to own the fastest motorhome, at least according to 1998 standards. The Chinook RV went 99.776 miles an hour (160.57 kilometers) at Bonneville Salt Flats in 1998.
The Chinook is built on a Ford E-350 chassis, with the Blue Oval’s Triton V10 under the hood. The rig is available for purchase on eBay. The auction closes on November 22nd and there are currently no bids. The starting price for the auction is $30,000, with a reserve that has not been met and a Buy It Now cost at $40,000.
The team removed all unnecessary parts of the vehicle including rooftop air conditioners and water tanks in order to achieve the speed record. The driver was protected by a roll cage.
After setting the record, all the equipment was restored to the motorhome. According to the seller, there are only 73,000 miles (117.482 kilometers) left on it.
The Chinook’s white body is complemented by bold orange stripes at the back. The hood has a small scoop, while the grille features orange accents to match the stripes. The body is also decorated with decals from sponsors.
This motorhome is fully equipped inside. The living area features a large couch along one wall and a table with two chairs on the opposite side. The rear section houses a kitchenette that includes a stovetop, sink and refrigerator. The bathroom includes a toilet and a shower.
This RV has been owned by the owner for 17 years. It was used for trips. According to the auction listing, it has had recent servicing. The photos show that the rig is in great condition and has a wonderful story to share.
