Japan has Nissan’s Skyline 200GT-t. The model will go on sale June 5th with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder engine from Mercedes. It produces 211 PS (155kW) and 350 Nm (258lb-ft). Although the company did not release specific performance numbers, it said that customers can expect an “exhilarating driving experience and powerful acceleration.”
Although Nissan is promoting the performance angle, they also highlighted the fact that the engine was equipped with direct injection, variable valve timing, and an engine stop/start system. The car can return 13.6 km/L (7.3 L/100km / 31.9% mpg US / 38.4 mpg UK), in conjunction with an electro-hydraulic powered steering system. The Skyline also gains a modified rear suspension and a Drive mode selector. Nissan expects to sell 200 units per month, and the pricing starts at Y=3,834,000 including tax.
