Another exotic from Italy will be unveiled near Lake Geneva next week.
Are you familiar with the Italian design studio which created the breathtaking Alfa Romeo Mole Construction Artigianale 01 concept? It created a vision of what an updated Alfa 4C sports car would look like. The same company teases a new concept, this time a sports car that was built from scratch.
The Mole Contruzione Artigianale is the name of the car. It should embody “sportiness, elegance”, and “the perfect harmony among modernity and tradition”, as the coachbuilder explains. It will make its public debut in the world. Geneva Next week, “the golden age” of sports cars will be reintroduced
The car is a two-seater, with a steep roofline and short rear overhang. It also has a muscular side profile. The designers managed to design a car that is modern and unique without taking inspiration from exotic cars.
At the moment, details about the sports car’s design are very scarce. According to Mole Automobile, the car uses a 3.0-liter V8 that produces 240 horsepower (179 kilowatts), and 192 poundfeet (261 Newton-meters). However, several sources claim that the Geneva concept will include a hydrogen powertrain. The 2-seater car is built on carbon fiber and weighs in at 3,153 pounds (1.430 kilograms). Brembo 330mm discs are hidden behind 22-inch wheels at all four corners. They provide stopping power.
The #oneoff tag on a Facebook teaser photo suggests that the car will be a unique one-off. There are several tags that are confusing and include #fca and #tesla. On March 5, the 2019 Geneva Motor Show will open its doors to the media and we’ll likely learn more about Mole Automobile’s plans for the sportscar. Keep watching.
