Another Lotus that the U.S. will lose.
Lotus has expanded its Exige range by introducing the Sport 410. This model takes over the Exige Cup 430’s parts bin. The 410 is a slot above the 350 and receives many upgrades from the Cup 430 including suspension, engine, and aerodynamics.
The Cup 430’s supercharged 3.5 liter V6 engine powers the Exige Sport 410. It produces 410 horsepower (416 PS), and 310 poundfeet (420 Newton-meters). The 410 also has the larger clutch and oil cooler from the Cup 430. Standard equipment includes a six-speed manual transmission with close ratios and exposed gear-change linkage. In the coupe configuration, the Sport can reach 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and maintains the Cup 430’s maximum speed of 180 mph.
The Cup 430 donates its suspension, chassis, and dampers for the Sport 410. Three-way adjustable Nitron dampers have been re-tuned to the road and the revised aerodynamic requirements. Standard equipment includes Eibach front and rear anti-roll bars.
The 410 is connected to the road by Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tire, which wrap around ultralightweight forged wheels in either silver or black. To provide stopping power, AP Racing forged four-piston calipers with two-piece J hook brake discs are found within those wheels.
Lotus has added a titanium exhaust system to help reduce weight. This adds 22 pounds (10 kg) The Lotus Exige Sport 410 weighs in at 2,324 lbs (1.054 kg). Lotus offers many visible carbon fiber components, including sill covers and roofs, instrument binnacles, and barge boards.
The Sport 410 is a road-going vehicle, but Lotus has many motorsport-inspired options, including fire extinguisher controls and an electrical cut-off switch. There are also non-airbag steering wheels, airbag deletion, and a four point harness. A dealer-fitted, FIA-compliant roll case can be ordered by owners. The Sport 410 can produce 330 lbs of downforce (150 kilogram).
You will find an Alcantara steering column and Lotus carbon fiber sports seats. These are available in Alcantara, leather, or full-leather trims with contrast stitching. The Interior Color Package offers contrasting colors for several interior parts, including the HVAC surround, electric window blinds, and transmission console. You have the option of air conditioning, iPod or Bluetooth functionality.
The new model features a revised front-end design that includes a wider grille, and aerodynamic bits. The updated styling is carried over to the Sport 350 entry-level model.
We’re sorry, but the Lotus Exige Sport 410 is not available in the United States. But you can still dream.
