Although the BMW 3 Series (G20), feels fresh, a quick glance at the date the sports sedan was launched on the market shows that it has been there for more than three years. The Mercedes C-Class rival, the BMW 3 Series (G20), is due for a facelift. This will see an expansion to the lineup with long-awaited launches of the HTML3 Touring. The M340i will be positioned right below full-fat M models.

This is the prototype that our spy spies spotted, judging from the front grille design and exhaust tips. The M Performance rear wing, mounted on the trunk lid, is what makes the M340i Sedan unique. It was Introduced In September 2020, the M3 and M4 received a controversial exhaust system that featured Lexus-like stack exhausts in the middle. The setup is not something we love, but the warm 3er does have the same configuration as the M340i.

You’ll notice M Performance goodies beyond the look-at me wing. There are also special side mirror caps, a front spoiler lip and what appears to be a redesigned bumper. BMW appears to have slimmed down the LED headlights to give the front end a more sleek look. We are pleased to report that the 2023 3 Series won’t inherit the polarizing kidney grille design from the .

The M340i also has a slightly lower seat to improve handling. BMW chose to disguise the shark fin antenna, as if it cared about its appearance. To hide the M badge, another useless cover was applied to the front fender. To hide the M badge, another useless disguise was applied to the front fender.

Although our spies couldn’t get inside the cabin, they could see the changes from a few angles. The mid-cycle update will be accompanied by the switch to BMW’s iDrive8 infotainment system with two screens within one piece of glass.
