You can make a Lancia Stratos using only parts from Lego’s Porsche 911 GT3 RS Kit.
For car enthusiasts, Lego has been really stepping up lately. Lego offers a variety of toys to attract car enthusiasts to their local department stores, including huge Technic kits that include supercars and large-scale Creator sets. These sets look more like Lego models than Lego ones, as well as the smaller but still entertaining Speed Champions sets.
Although many Lego larger kits come with additional instructions for building a secondary model using the same parts, this is rarely worthwhile. Owners of the Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3RS kit will no longer have to do that. A determined Lego fanatic discovered how to make the Porsche’s parts into a Lancia Stratos. This is the wedge-shaped mid-engine Italian rally weapon from the 1970s.
The kit includes only one optional component, but the instructions alone will set you back EUR15 or approximately $17. The Stratos’s interior is a little less detailed than that of the Porsche, but it still has its natural beauty. The steering, gearbox and doors work exactly like the real thing, just as the Porsche it cannibalizes.
It is amazing that the Stratos was created using parts from an entirely different car kit. We’d bet that this looks even better than Lego’s Porsche model. Although the GT3 RS kit looks impressive from a technical standpoint, it is not what you would consider attractive.
We’d be tempted, however, to buy two copies of Porsche 911 GT3 RS, so we don’t have to pick which one to display at all times.
