The outside is tough, but the inside is soft.
Ford has already unveiled its next-generation Ranger in mid November 2021. It makes perfect sense that Ford will now unveil its SUV counterpart. The teased redesign of the Everest was already revealed . This latest preview announces that the world premiere will be held on March 1. The body-on-frame sports utility vehicle will not sell in the United States, where it was sold as the Bronco.
We all expect to see a Ranger SUV so it’s easy to predict its appearance. It’s not to be expected, however. midsize pickup truck looks quite fetching . The new VW Amarok rival is appealing in every way, whether we are talking about the entry-level workhorse and its magnificent steelies or its high-end trim levels. The same should be true for its SUV counterpart.
The Everest has a few tricks up its sleeve that the Bronco does not have. There is a third row that can accommodate up to seven people. The new SUV will still have a diesel engine, as it is sold worldwide. The 2022 Ranger brings a new innovation: a larger V6 oil-burner that should be found under the Everest’s hood.
The Ranger’s technical specifications have been released by the Blue Oval. It is worth noting that the wheelbase has been extended by 50 millimeters (two inches). The distances between Everest’s axles will increase, which should mean that passengers seated in the back will have more legroom. The pickup’s rear track is also wider than it was before, which should have a positive effect on the SUV’s cargo volume.
Max Wolff, Ford’s design director, says that the cabin is a “sanctuary with premium amenities in which customers can feel relaxed and in charge, regardless of what happens outside.” He explains that the company’s original intention was to communicate the capabilities of the next-gen Everest through a strong, modern exterior design.
The Ranger will receive the Raptor treatment along with an EcoBoost V6 February 22. However, it is too early to predict if the Everest will produce a go-faster version.
