Dodge Takes Jab At Mustang Coyote V8 In 24 Months Of Muscle Campaign

Ford’s 5.0 pony-car is being teased by a dead coyote.

Dodge launched a two-year-old business plan called Never Lift. It promises an enthusiast-based announcement every three months. This was done by the marketing team, who created a 24 Months Of Muscle countdown. These announcements can be teased ahead of time and referenced when they are made official.

This is the background, and announcements like Direct Connection are already made. We are interested in the teasers for this article. Dodge’s campaign website has several images of garage doors. The one that shows tire tracks running over horses is particularly intriguing.

It’s clear that this is a Ford Mustang, but if one zooms in, it becomes apparent that it’s not actually an horse. It looks more like a coyote.

You can also download the image. You’ll be able to see dead coyote within the file name. This is not a snarky comment on the Ford Mustang. It currently comes with three engine options. This is a direct reference to the 5.0-liter Coyote engine V8 that powers the GT and Mach 1. These callouts are rare from automakers so we usually get fireworks. We love fireworks.

This isn’t the first time that Stellantis has poked Ford. It’s hard not to remember Ram telling Ford to get the F-150 Raptor hooded on its grand debut day. The Hellcat-powered TRX is ready to take on the off-roader. We suspect that Dodge executives feel quite bold now, with the Dodge Challenger outselling Mustang in US sales.

The Coyote’s fate remains a mystery. It is possible that the truth will not be revealed until the end of the reveal list, as the teaser image is located near the bottom.
