There are no upgrades for oily bits, but the copper accents look great.
Cupra continues to expand beyond the SEAT badge. Although the high performance sub-brand just launched a new Leon hot-hat almost two years ago, it is determined to increase its appeal. Cupra Leon VZ Cup is the new range-topper, which pays tribute to Cupra Racing’s Cup Competition models. Copper is the main theme in the motorsports division of the Spanish brand.
Both a hatchback and wagon version of the Cupra Leon VZ Cup are available. While the interior and exterior changes are a distinct feature of the standard Cupra Leon models but don’t expect performance improvements to the already exciting five door cars,
The Cupra Leon VZ Cup’s exterior features include a copper-finished carbon fiber rear spoiler and Dark Alu side skirts. As an option, you can get copper carbon fiber side mirror caps that match the set of 19-inch alloy tires. Bridgestone performance tires are used to wrap the copper wheels.
While the dashboard, seats, and steering wheel are covered in Genuine Black or Petrol Blue leathers, copper adornments remain. This feature was introduced first in the Audi-powered Cupra Formentor VZ5 crossover. Cup bucket seats are placed low in the cabin to maximise space and, according to the brand’s preference, to provide a more ergonomic position.
In the VZ Cup trim, all powertrain options for the Cupra Leon are preserved. This means that you can get the Cupra Leon’s exclusive range-topper in the PHEV format – the turbocharged, 1.4-liter gasoline engine coupled to an electric motor for a total output 242 horsepower (180 Kilowatts) & 400 Newton-meters (295 pounds-feet) respectively.
Cupra Leon AWD , the most powerful of the line-up, still has a turbo 2.0-liter TSI engine that produces 306 hp (228 kW), and the same amount torque as the PHEV. A manual gearbox is not available for the Leon line.
Cupra will begin deliveries of the Leon VZ Cup in March 2022. Production began this week at Martorell.
