The RV has all the comforts you would expect from an RV, but it also features a unique exterior design.
This ex-ambulance is now a camper. OttoEx now sells the rig for $84,995 with a video showing what makes it unique.
It was originally a 2007 GMC3500 4×4 with an Ambulance conversion by McCoy Miller. It was used by a Wyoming hospital and accumulated just 94,000 miles.
The Duramax turbodiesel V8 of 6.6 liters produces power through a six speed Allison automatic transmission. The off-road capability is enhanced by a two-speed transfer case.
OttoEx transformed the ambulance into a motorhome. The person who purchased it didn’t use the vehicle so he sold it back to OttoEx.
Except for the new paint scheme, the exterior looks just like an ambulance. The exterior has many locking doors that allow access to the water tanks, propane bottles, shower, and other storage areas.
As you step inside, the floor is covered with brushed-oak pattern vinyl planks. A bench can be converted into a bed. The original owner requested that hooks be installed in the ceiling at the rear to mount a swing so they could enjoy a tranquil view from the rear doors. A two-burner stove, butcher block countertops, a sink and a refrigerator make up the kitchenette. The backsplash is made of ceramic tiles.
OttoEx kept some of the original latches in the ambulance while converting it to a motorhome. These pieces are durable and high-quality.
The cab is in excellent condition. The center console still has the control panel for the lights and sirens. OttoEx points out that the lights and sirens work, but they are illegal to be used on the roads.
Roof-mounted solar panels are visible in the video but they can also be connected to a 40-amp charger. There is also a 140-amp smart battery Isolator and a 100-amp-hour lithium ion battery.
