Are you sacrilegious? Or are you actually cool?
Ferrari produced just over 1,300 F40s between 1987 and 1992. Although most were red, there was a few examples that were painted in Rosso Corsa colors, like yellow or black. We know of no car with green paint. This is why this rare green F40 is so unusual. It did not leave Maranello factory in this color, as it was originally red-painted.
Eugenio Amos is the car’s owner. He is an avid car collector who also owns a Mercedes CLK GTR and a Porsche 993 GT2 RS. After three months of hard work, the car was repainted in Italy. Why did it take so long? They had to fix some body imperfections after getting rid of the Rosso Corsa. It was not an easy task because the F40 has body panels that are made of a mixture of Kevlar and carbon fiber. Amos wanted to update the exterior as well as the interior. He chose a color called “Cuoio Schedoni”, which was used for the headliner and seats. “Cuoio” in Italian means leather, while “Schedoni”, an Italian company that creates bespoke Ferrari luggage, is called “Cuoio Schedoni”. The Ferrari F40 was displayed at the 2017 Milano Autoclassica. It was painted in Verde Abetone, a rare Ferrari color, to imitate the official Ferrari color. The show was attended by Moto1.com Italy/ OmniAuto.it, where we had the chance to film the F40. The supercar isn’t difficult to appreciate if you speak Italian.
