Ford will unveil the global Ranger Raptor sometime in this month.
The next generation Ford Ranger Raptor will be unveiled sometime in the middle of this month. Although we won’t be able to learn all there is about the new truck, a report by Ford Authority provides some insight into its pricing. According to the publication, the Ranger will cost $52,500 when it arrives.
Ford Authority refers to “sources familiar in the matter” as those who disclosed the pricing information. It’s not clear if the price includes destination charges. It currently costs $1,295 at Ranger. It is possible that the price will change before it goes on sale.
The Ranger Raptor’s details are still unknown. However, the truck should be equipped with either the twin turbocharged 2.7-liter EcoBoost from Bronco OR the twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 of the Explorer ST. The 2.7-liter engine produces 330 horsepower (246kilowatts), while 400 horsepower (298kW) is produced by the larger unit. Rumours also circulate that Ford plans a hotter V8-powered Ranger RaptorR. Ford may take a reserved approach with the regular Ranger Raptor.
Ford unveiled the global version of its next-generation Ranger last year. It showed off its new design and enhanced feature set. The conversation has been lacking details about the Ranger’s US-bound status. Ford stated that it would provide more information about the truck’s North American availability after the truck’s debut. However, there are still many things we don’t know about this truck in the US.
Ford has not yet confirmed whether the new Raptor will be sold in the US. However, keeping the Ranger Raptor last-generation from the US seemed like a mistake. It was unlikely that American customers would have adopted the diesel engine. The Ranger Raptor would be the most affordable way to purchase a Raptor-badged Ford model in the US if it goes on sale for $52,500.
