It’s a reskinned C8 with Toyota V12 engine and an appearance influenced by the Cien concept car.
Since the C8 Corvette was introduced, we suspect that at least some people have been thinking about a new Cadillac supercar. This wouldn’t be the first Cadillac to offer a luxury performance vehicle with ties to the “Vette” and the Cadillac Cien mid engine concept car from 2002. Although it seems obvious that a Corvette-based Caddy supercar is possible, there are no plans.
Competition Carbon isn’t interested to wait. This aftermarket company specializes in Corvette body kits. Now, they are going a little further with the C120R. While the bones of this supercar look very similar to a C8 Corvette Corvette , the body is completely new. In a November Instagram announcement, Competition Carbon revealed a head-on photo while specifically referring to the Cadillac Cien as its inspiration. Competition Carbon later stated that production Cadillac taillights were used.
You may be familiar with the Cadillac Cien’s Northstar V12 engine, which was located behind the driver. Although renderings depict a C8 Z06-style exhaust system with a center exit, Competition Carbon claims that the C120R’s pipes are connected to a V12 like the Caddy. It will actually be Toyota-powered with the 1GZFE 12-cylinder borrowed from Toyota Century. Although it seems odd to choose such a powerful supercar, renderings show that the intake manifold was custom-designed for the engine.
It is important to remember that all information about the C120R at this point comes only through Carbon Competition’s many Instagram posts. Carbon Competition claims the car is in development. However, body panels are currently being printed by Carbon Competition. It is expected to be ready for the 2022 SEMA Show. However, it is not clear if it will be available as an upgrade to Corvettes or as a standalone vehicle.
