These kicks are subtle and stylish.
Mercedes-Benz jumped into streetwear in 2021. The automaker collaborated with Palace, a skateboard company, to create a line of AMG Black Series-inspired T-shirts. Heron Preston, a clothing designer, also designed airbag-inspired merchandise. Maybach released a concept vehicle designed by late fashion designer and sneaker designer Virgil Abloh.
Mercedes is now partnering with Elijah Rutland, a sneaker customizer and artist who goes under the online pseudonym Fix My Sole – to create a pair custom Nike Jordan Air 1s that every Merc owner would love. These sneakers are unique and feature a white Mercedes-Benz star logo on the toebox. They also have black accents and airbrushed silver to match the company’s signature colors.
Mercedes uploaded two videos to its social media channels, showing Rutland hard at his work on the project.
Rutland stated that Mercedes-Benz called him a few weeks ago to inform me of a shoe project. They also wanted me to be part of it. “I think of Mercedes-Benz like a classic luxury car. So I wanted to capture the essence of certain cars, such as the A-Class ….”.
This is not an official partnership between Mercedes-Benz & Jordan – you won’t find these products in stores. The brands have not collaborated on a sneaker project together, but there have been previous Jordan 1 models that paid tribute to Mercedes. For example, the Air Jordan 1 All Star 2021 – which was available in both low-top and mid-top versions – featured faux carbon fibre paneling and a Jumpman logo on its tongue.
