Could this be another Purosangue mule?
We have seen a lot of spy photos and videos of upcoming Ferrari model, and many of them showed the brand’s first high-riding vehicle. While the Purosangue is the most popular product the Maranello team are currently working on, there are many other products. We have a video that shows us an unusual prototype being tested near the brand’s headquarters in Italy. Although we know what it is, we are having trouble identifying its identity.
This is most likely still a mule, however. Purosangue . The brand has already tested its first SUV with different bodies, and this trial car uses a modified GTC4 Lusso body. This is clearly not a regular GTC4 Lusso. The ride height is much higher, and the wheel arches have been extended to accommodate larger wheels. The fenders are also different from the production version.
Ferrari could be testing suspension components for its Purosangue. This would make sense. The chassis and tires can be worked on separately. As long as the load is sufficient to support the SUV’s weight, it doesn’t make sense to put the entire vehicle together. The tires are low-profile rubber that you would expect to find on a supercar, and not an SUV.
Ferrari has not used the term SUV yet and would prefer that you call it something else. Even if super SUVs aren’t your thing, there is something exciting about the new Ferrari. Although we don’t know the exact power source for the Purosangue yet, we do believe it will be an electric hybrid that has a large battery. It is likely that all-wheel drive will be available, but it remains to be confirmed whether the vehicle will have a V12 engine. The Purosangue’s brand new platform allows for other features, such as air suspension.
