A 2019 release is also planned for the electric Citigo, and the plug-in hybrid Superb.

Skoda’s 2017 best year was marked by 1,200,500 cars delivered, or 6.6% more than the previous year. The Mlada Boleslav automobile maker is pleased to report that 2018 is off to a strong start. They sold 196,600 cars, or 12.4 percent, more than the previous two months. The VAG-owned Czech marque is ready to strike while the iron is still hot. 19 vehicles are expected to arrive in the next two years.

We will see a production version in 2019 of the Vision X small crossover, which was unveiled earlier this month at Geneva Motor Show. The concept featured a complex powertrain that could run on gasoline, compressed gas, and pure electric. However, the production version of the Vision X small crossover will be similar to other B-segment crossovers made by the Volkswagen Group.

In 2019, the company will also sell its first plug-in hybrid production machine. This role was attributed to the Superb The flagship model will be the Passat GTE, although more details are not available at this time. This model will get a Mid-cycle refresh Later in the year, there could be some improvements such as an extended electric-only range.

In 2019, Skoda, a tiny electric-only company, will launch its first pure EV. It will be called the Citigo. The Vision E concept (pictured below) will be the second zero-emissions model of the company and will ride on the new MEB platform. Skoda will have ten electrified models in its portfolio by the middle of next decade. Some hybrids will be available, while others will not use the combustion engine.

Skoda wants to expand its automotive footprint beyond the EV push. It plans on expanding its presence in 102 to 120 countries starting in 2019 and continuing with South Africa in 2020.

The company’s 2017 sales revenue increased by 20.8 percent, to EUR16.6billion ($20.5B), and the operating profit rose by 34.6 percent, to EUR1.6b ($1.97B). The Octavia was Skoda’s most-sold model for the third consecutive year. China remained the largest market, with 325,000 cars. Germany came in second with 173,300 cars, followed by the Czech Republic (95,000).
