Do you want a Mohave that is a little more polished?
The Kia Mohave is aging. Also known as the Borrego in the United States before, the midsize SUV sits on a more-than-a-decade-old platform that came out in 2008.
Kia won’t let its aging platform stop the Mohave. It received a complete redesign last year by the Korean automaker, almost as a second generation update.
You would be wrong to think that this is enough for the carmaker. The Mohave received a new version of its flagship SUV, Gravity, from Kia. It’s been less than a year since it was last updated.
Although the Mohave Gravity’s updates from a regular model are not significant, you will notice the modified radiator grille on this trim. The Mohave Gravity’s chrome “fangs”, which were originally installed, have been removed. This gives it a cleaner appearance than its regular counterparts. The 20-inch rims have been painted black.
The majority of the updates can be found inside. Alcantara is used for the steering wheel, the door panels and the central box compartment. Ambient LED lights are also added to the doors and dashboard in front of passengers. Mohave Gravity gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment.
The Mohave Gravity is offered in 5-6 and 7-seat configurations in Korea. The 6-seater sits on the top of the range at 56,520,000 won or $46,335 depending on current exchange rates. The 5-seater costs 55,470,000 won (or $45,475).
Although it’s not clear if Kia will bring the Mohave and Borrego back to America, it’s possible considering the popularity of SUVs in the USA. This or the more affordable Hyundai Telluride?
