This is the Mopar wheelstander that we long for to become real.
We see all sorts of vehicle renderings every day, friends. Some of our friends even hire artists to create custom designs for us. But the details on this gold Dodge Challenger by Abimelec Design on Facebook have our jaws dropping. These images were so impressive that we sent the artist a message to find out more.
Abimelec Arellano is the man behind these stunning renderings. As you can see from this Hemi Under Glass recreation of the car, cars are his passion. This iconic livery is a tribute to the famous Plymouth Barracuda, which was built in gold during the classic muscle car era. It had a Hemi V8 at the rear. Although technically it was a mid-engine layout the Hemi’s powerful torque combined with the car’s rearward weight shift meant that the car could make a quarter-mile pass in a mere 10 seconds.
These renderings took Arellano about 4-5 hours to bring the Barracuda classic into the 21 century. The Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was destined to be the successor to this iconic vehicle. However, this project required more than a simple gold repaint. The rear-window and trunk of the Challenger are digitally replaced with the right amount of glass. And the Hellcat V8 demon-infused Hellcat is meticulously detailed for everyone to see below it.
You’ll find intricate details for the roll cage within. Drag radials are wrinkled from hard launches. The weatherstrip and window are reflected in the side mirror at the driver’s door. Even sparks are visible in the blurry action shot. This is exactly what you would see as the car raced down the drag strip. The Abimelec Design logo is also on the car’s back.
We are grateful to Abimelec Arellano who shared the story and photos of this amazing creation with us. You can see many other projects at his Artstation webpage, and we might feature more in the future. A Hellcat-swapped Ford Crown Victoria is what we really need in our lives.
