The little diesel that could.
For those working in the automotive industry, race truck could refer to many things. Some people might imagine a Baja Trophy Truck that is bombproof, while others might see a Nascar Race Truck that can rip around Daytona International Speedway at 200 MPH. CB Media’s most recent video explains what Ford’s Ranger race truck is all of.
Ford Thailand Racing had to prepare the Ford Ranger Raptor Race Truck to compete at an event at Chang Circuit, Buriram, Thailand. This is the same track MotoGP travels too. The truck’s name is a bit too long. It will compete in Super Pickup Class of the Thailand Super Series. This regional championship tours local race tracks.
The engine is a 3.2-liter turbodiesel inline-five turbodiesel. It is certainly potent but not enough for spec class. It places emphasis on vehicle setup as well as driver skill, with the tires being restricted by class. Things are looking promising for the truck number 03 with Sandy Stuvik at the wheel. Sandy is a young driver who races in the local GT3 championship in an Audi R8 LMS GT3.
The looks of this diesel engine are up to you, but we can see that it is capable of boogie. The Ranger Raptor Race Truck will be able to show its value later in the year, barring any technical problems.
Motorsport in Thailand is becoming increasingly popular, with Alex Albon leading Formula 1 in Thailand. More people are eager to follow his lead. The future of local motorsport looks bright with MotoGP coming to Buriram and an F1 driver from Thailand.
